Doc, having had a coworker whose very fit (marathoner) sister overused Tylenol (and died), might I suggest you remind folks:
Use only as prescribed and DO NOT use Tylenol with alcohol.

    Yes. Good points.

I would keep max dose of acetaminophen to 3000mg per day.

DO NOT use with ANY alcohol. Very rare, but can cause liver damage.

Also, illnesses CAN get better faster if you do not treat the fever.

Unfortunately, that list is stuff like lettuce, spinach, radishes, green onions, kale, etc.

The hell? Radish is a powerful anti-inflammatory. Black radish is consider a medicine is some places.

Yo Varlant! I shall run you though should you with my sword if you besmirch my Radishes. You should think much more of your vegetables.

Local bar/restaurant in town was pushing their green beer/st Patty's day specials HARD on FB today. Probably no one coming in, and justifiably so. A lot of food service establishments are in panic mode over this while the grocery stores are making a killing.

I’ll keep hammering this point. The restaurant food supply chain is significantly different than the grocery supply chain. So restaurants have food and restaurant wholesale suppliers have food but nowhere to sell it.

If they were smart they would be creating on the fly cary out and delivery menus and getting them posted on every social media outlet in their community.

There is an assload of people that not only don’t know how to cook, but don’t even have cookware.

Why Outback or other major chains like Friday’s haven’t jumped on this amazes me.

And I said it before I would be delivering beer and wine to homes too
In spite of my liquor license. Keeping people out of bars is a public health need.

I would think it's been discussed in the board room. Probably waiting to hear back from their respective legal departments. Their CEO's aren't allowed to take a dump without consulting the lawyers first.

Wouldn't be surprised if by Friday, if not sooner ...

Dr. Anthony Fauci urges 'national shutdown' as coronavirus spreads
    https://www.washingtontimes.com/news/2020/mar/15/anthony-fauci-urges-coronavirus-national-shutdown/

I wonder exactly what that means?

I know my newborns don’t have 1 days worth of food in the house because they have told me so on several occasions so they would starve if they don’t go to s fast food restaurant 3 times a day

Farmers with stock gotta feed them, hell I would have to make my way to the farm at least 3 times a week to feed my chickens and get their eggs

The guys at my job site all live week to week, almost hand to mouth , that’s part of my problem worrying about them

My wife works in a pharmacy and they’re overrun the last month

Exactly what is a national shut down?

Not that I am not for it, I just don’t know what it will mean

I spoke with the owner of a small cafe about the demand for home delivery is about to skyrocket.

My daughter in Columbus has a large family and relies heavy on online grocery shopping with store pickup. All the stores within a 30 miles radius are estimating a 1 week pickup when normally only an hour or two

This is purely a guess, but all schools closed. Work to be from home unless impossible (and they might make exceptions for many industries). No gatherings of 50 people or more. Severe restrictions on mass transit including air travel.

Theaters closed. Libraries and museums closed. Bars closed. Cafes closed. Restaurants closed except for curbside pick-up. Non essential and elective medical procedures postponed.

Groceries, pharmacies, fast food (only drive through), liquor stores, gas stations, automative service, etc remain open. Medical and dental practices, urgent care centers, and hospitals remain open. First responder providers continue as normal.

In the end, they basically want to maximize people staying at home and minimizing interactions with others outside the home for a minimum of two weeks (it will be extended if they figure out how to pay everyone being forced to stay home lost wages).

From what I am seeing down here people are taking this awfully Willy nilly, shit there’s a kids birthday party down the street from me right now with a couple dozen kids and as many adults out in the yard right now

I agree that we should all keep away from folks as much as possible, and if shutting down my work would help I don’t mind, I just feel awful for my guys and subs who I know need their paychecks

I guess if everyone stays home so will the bill collectors

It’s just so hard to imagine everything shut down

Hopefully the stock markets shut down also, if that’s even possible

Varlant, huh? Been called worse ... back at ya with "a pox upon your house!"

Sorry, was distracted by the kale. Kale is what my food eats ... but it grows fast.

Regardless, there ain't enough calories in the fast-growing vegitales [sic] to sustain a person/family. I'm more concerned with long-term planning such that protein/calories/nutrition shows up in a reasonable timeframe. Planting potatoes that won't be edible until November doesn't do you any good if you starve to death in August.

Speaking of potatoes, you can eat sweet potato greens while you're waiting for the tubors to mature. Can't do that with other potatoes, so "sweets" are probably a better short-term choice.

Ohio and NY are beginning to shut down restaurants, bars and gyms.

Started a discussion with the family about the potential for an extended staycation. There are a handful of fast growing plants we could start in the garden and have harvest-able food in 30 days. Unfortunately, that list is stuff like lettuce, spinach, radishes, green onions, kale, etc.

I'm seriously considering getting some chicks from TSC (it is Chick Days, after all.) Chickens can be harvested for meat in 8 weeks -just in time to match up with the salad greens from the garden. That's assuming I start now.

Maybe we will consider hatching some of our fertilized eggs. Gotta add 20+ days of incubation to that plan.

I never expected to have to seriously consider stuff like this.

FYI cornish hens are meat birds harvested at 4 weeks. I used to start butchering my bigger birds at 6 weeks and try to have them all done and in the freezer by 8

Looking at Europe on the web. Tomorrow morning at 8:00 AM local time Germany is closing its border with France, Austria, and Switzerland. Truck traffic and commuters will be allowed, but will face stricter border controls. In the state of Baden-Wuerttemberg individuals told to self-quarantine will face criminal charges if found outside.
Update: Borders with Denmark and Luxembourg will also close.

They are and will. And it’ll get worse and more will start taking it seriously. Hopefully enough. The key is the more who do, the slower it’ll spread and the better able our health care system can take care of critical people as they get sick.

We’ve had to turn away several of my kids’ friends who’s parents don’t F-ing get it. My wife’s parents are taking it real serious. My parents not as much. My dad who turns 70 next years is still going to the gym “I wipe down the equipment”.
