Or possibly, johnny-come-lately manufacturers making cheap and inferior products to catch the gun-buying-panic train, and make a fast buck before they disappear into the night, never to be heard from again.

There is no way you can make a quality AR 15 at that price point.

Being that cheap it reminds me of the old saying...You get what you pay for. Just hope that its not a complete pile of junk if you do decide to purchase one.

$479 does seem a little low, but we used to have members bragging about their $500 AR builds all the time before the last craze hit...

I bet their castle nut isn't staked. ;)

Ive been looking at building a .22 upper, and the upper alone would come in around the price of that rifle. Sounds nice, but you know what they say about playing stupid games. Just replace stupid with cheap in this case I guess. Then again, how much damage could they do to a dedicated .22? The whole thing seems fishy, seeing how when you go to their website they don't even have their rifles listed on the page.

    American Tactical = Turkish.

Don't know about these, but Turkish is not necessarily a bad thing. I owned a terrific Stoeger Cougar 9mm that was perfect fit and finish, no FTL/FTF/FTE. Great quality throughout. If, for example, the same factory that makes the Cougar made these AR's I would not hesitate to jump on one.
