Worcester County has a grandfathered no carry in nightclubs ordinance, it's not Fager's choice, so this is NOT a private property issue.
I'm sure the ordinance doesn't require they purchase metal detectors and use them, so yea it's a Fagers island wants you defense-less issue

Can you point me to this grandfathered ordinance? I searched at https://ecode360.com/13403024?highlight=firearm,firearms&searchId=44867296991781872#13403024 for Worcester County and it only talks about “dry nightclubs” which Fager’s sure is not.
Good catch, but now we would need to look under this:

Nightclubs with alcoholic beverage licenses are to a large degree controlled by the Board of License Commissioners by the licensing procedure and by regulations and limitations placed on their licenses.

There can, under the verbage produced here, be a restriction written there.

I will try to find the time to check their regulations

That must be some deep blue territory to have county level carry restrictions like that.
Many folks think of O.C as Worcester County. Outside of O.C it's very rural and far from deep blue. However, O.C is it own little world. Has a bit of influence from transplants that bring their baggage . This article should sum it up.
I'm not aware of any special ordinances, but could be wrong .

As I mentioned in another thread... Northrop Grumman Credit Union on Corporate Blvd. in Linthicum has signage and a metal detector that does, indeed, work. I no longer need their services.
Problem is it's going to be soon in Md where this is the norm and it will be nearly, if not completely, impossible to obtain needed services w/o encountering this.

So say a private business puts up metal detectors and you enter carrying a weapon who will stop you and what gives them a right to search you. They have no legal rights to do so

Last time I was at an O’s game I had to go through a metal detector. Same with the Convention Center (at least for the auto show).
I got my EDC knife through the detector with my metal belt buckle on as well, and keys in my pocket. My wife got her bag inspected. Seems like the detector was off or not set to the right sensitivity.

They have no right to search, but, as private property, they can refuse entry. If you barge in, they can have you cited for trespassing.

Bowlero Ellicot City has signs posted, but no checks at all. I only know about the signs because my wife told me I had to "put it in the car" to which I replied "signs on private property have no force of law, I can carry here" and she let it go.

I worked briefly at Home Depot, employee being disrespectful can get you fired, regardless if it did or didn't happen (customer lying to manager/corporate Home depot).

Places like that will never have walk through metal detectors, they also couldn't afford to pay someone to sit there gawking at it all day.

Furthermore if I'm walking into an AppleBees. Grandma and Grandpa Infront of me are proned out at the hostess station getting their belongings rummaged through by employees there I'm not eating there and no one else is either LOL

Late to the party but glad we have a thread for this. As of this weekend...

MD Live Casino is a no go with metal detectors and personnel but the restaurants next to it (KoHo, Cheesecake factory) are no issue. They do have signage next to the elevators against "anything that can be used to harm another person" which seems silly considering bricks and hammers.

National Aquarium is good to go. No signs or detectors.

I usually do a google search on places and find reddit answers but we really should be an updated source here considering how many people we have on the board.
