“By no means is it our intent to disarm, or seize anyone’s firearms,” she assured with a smile and a southern drawl. “This is in there to protect public workers and any volunteers helping should someone become unruly, which can happen because emotions are high…”

It's always a crisis and you're always unruly.

Look at the youtube videos at what happened in NewOrleans. They used regular military troops to kick in doors and seize weapons. Those that protested were "stuffed and "cuffed"

The Disaster Recovery Personal Protection Act prohibits this from any federal agency or any state/local agency receiving federal dollars (almost all) from taking firearms away from citizens during an emergency or major disaster. The act turned into the Vitter amendment to the DHS Appropriations act and signed into law by GW Bush.
Ilegal if they try to make it law. I believe that HoCo has some sort of ordinance still on the books that tries to make this law.
I believe, given compelling circumstances, they will try it anyway opting to regret it later so it might be wise to have a "throw down" gun. Any and all agencies who try to do this after the Katrina history must be hit with 1983 civil complaints from all affected.

That's BS....what constitutes unruly? Depends on whether the arresting officer is married or not...

Huh. There's the (one of) issue here.

Can't leave this up to each and every LEO. Next thing you know you'll be on the ground gasping for air.

    Wait...... that's another thread.

    That's BS....what constitutes unruly?

Any vocal or written opposition to pending legislation or ordinances, at the arbitrary discretion of a politician of course. Other unruly events that qualify are gas stations running low on regular, big mama calling 911 about cold fries at McD's, and anytime the Tide loses.

Oh, and she looks like a circus clown.
