Does that help with modern firearms?
Well, the discounts might. I picked up a 14.5" SOCOM upper at a nice discount, but that was parts, not the whole firearm.

Good for anything made through 1973; IMO that covers a lot of modern long guns. YMMV, of course.

Well that kinda ruined my day,, I was just gonna pop in for 10 minutes and if one of 2-3 rifles "felt right" in my hands I was gonna fill out the paper work and take it with me.
Don't let it stop you from trying. I have never been delayed in PA. It's always been as fast as MD for me, and really doesn't take any longer than the rest of the payment/paperwork. Some folks are just unlucky.

I've never had my PA PICS check delayed. It's always instant within a minute. When inquiring, the LGS said they've noticed if you're delayed once you seem to always be delayed and if you go through instantly that seems to be the case as well. No idea how much that holds true, but I wouldn't let it stop you from making a purchase.

I am headed to a neighboring state, While there I am stopping at a gun store that has a Lever action rifle that I am interested in.
The owner of the store told me on the phone that he would sell to a MD resident.

Am I breaking any MD laws purchasing a long gun out of state, In person, not a transfer.

    Thanks for any opinions

If I understand long guns and shotguns should be across the counter sales- Like Cash. NICS ...done deal.

I bought a .45 colt 1873 model in Tennessee (Franklin Gun Store) way back when and brought it here, no problem.
Presumably that was a replica of a Winxhester M1873 Rifle , not a replica of Colt M1873 Revolver ?

OTOH , if it were an original Colt M1873 Revolver purchased w/o paperwork because it was pre 1899 Antique , Pictures please !

DOH! Yes, a rifle. Sorry. Although I HAD bought several pistols from the same shop using my C&R with a Maryland address no problem.

    1972 guns are somewhat modern
Arg , can't seem to quote from posts on two different pages .

The topic was did C&R facilitate " Modern " guns .

Modern depends upon your viewpoint and interests . 003 is not for * Current * mfg guns . But indeed plenty of circa 1970 guns are modern in design and materials .

not gonna help me, looking at Henry's and Ruger-Marlins

    As far as Marlin-Marlins , the modern era M 1895 was introduced 1972 . If you mean the 1885- 1917 M1895 , deaigned by L.L. Hepburn that was a scaled up M1893 , they're all good for 003 , or even Antique .

Been much, much longer than that. During and after the civil war was a major thrust by the Federals to strip power from the states and undermine our civil rights. Northern aggression as usual.

Gotcha . Can go all the way back to mid 1600's in that context .

I was addressing Federal laws about purchases between residents of different state , which is where the OP was asking . But sure , we're MDS , and we drift more than the worst entry of the F&F franchise , and we're proud of it !

A little off topic but does anyone know of NoVA stores that are open to transferring pistols to my local MD FFL? I’d pay the shipping of course.

I feel like a criminal / time waster asking them, so I’d rather know ahead of time if they do it. If it’s frowned upon, I wouldn’t even bother browsing / asking.
