PVC Sheath - Poor Mans Kydex?

Last Christmas I got some of those Cheaper Than Dirt 5 for $20 Machete's for stocking stuffers for my Pops, Bro, and myself.

So now that I've sharpened my fav - and cut myself - I'm thinkin, this thing REALLY needs a sheath.

So I was trolling YouTube to see if I could find some instruction on how to make a leather sheath, and stumbled upon this:

Interesting, and looking pretty cheap and easy! I think befitting of my $5 machete too. =)

Anyone here tried this perhaps with their cheaper knives?
