My longterm goal is to get a job as a LEO. Unforunatly due to some speeding tickets and poor college peformance I am unable to achieve this goal at this time. To put some time between these events I'm trying to get a job in a security position. Looking at packing.org it says "Evidence of pistol qualifications through a Maryland State Police "Qualified Handgun Instructor"." What exactly does this mean and where I can obtain such training? A lot of positions that I am searching for require you to already have a Maryland handgun license so I'm attempting to get a jump on things.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

haha I suppose you are right. I could probably apply to Baltimore City of PG County. I have 9 months until I graduate so I'll see how things are then.

You might want to look into getting a summer job with the OC police department. It's probably not too early to contact them for next summer.
Police departments tend to look on that as actual experience as opposed to a security gig.
