that's an excellent point, and one i hadn't considered. delay their ability to play in this sport, and something else will grab their attention and that opportunity may be lost. i will say though that i was into hunting and shooting way before age 18, so even though those under 18 or 21 may not be able to acquire firearms themselves, hopefully their parents have and have brought them up hunting and shooting and of course fishing and other outdoor activities.
The Left has a long history of efforts to shape, mold, and indoctrinate young minds, which can be much easier than ours to control. That's why it has focused on controlling the education system and social services industries.
Own the youth, and you own the future.
Higher age restrictions are one way to deny even more of our country's youth the understanding, training, and experience with firearms and the Second Amendment necessary to make educated decisions for themselves.
They also would give the educational indoctrinators more unopposed time to present their one-sided arguments that guns are evil and the Second Amendment is obsolete.
