CVA optima, I talked to the rep who says to use 290 gr. platinums with 100 gr Pyrodex... when I use the ramrod, it grabs and removes the plastic nose piece from the bullet. Anyone else? Seems dumb.

Does the ramrod have a threaded hole for accessories? You might want to block that up.

    Perverts....

Marko, I was thinking your rod tip might be missing the brass part on the end that cups the ball/bullet, to prevent this from happening.

Pic attached, sorry for the crappy quality:

Sounds to me like you're missing the brass jag end that is designed for those bullets. You can not use the factory rod for the BT bullets. You should have this:

I am the Op and am just rereading this thread and am pissed you need a special jag for the PBs. And I talked EXACTLY with the Rep. This is a big deal - if you are a CVA Rep, push the exact pellet, bullet - please warn us the ramrod won't work....

I will state that CVA Rep said to use 330 grain Platinum Powerbelts,
    and 100 grain Pyrodex pellets.
I sighted in with this recommendation.

    LMAO OF COURSE HE DID.
The more expensive bullets puts more money in his pocket.
Do you think he's gonna tell you to use the economy bullets ? :innocent0

This is the reason I cast my own bullets. I'm sick and tired of
commercial bullets that cost $25.00 for 15 or 20 bullets.
It's Robbery" and there's no other way to attack the theory.

Just so you don't feel singled out with the PBs... any bullet with a poly tip requires the accessory jag. It's not just the PBs. Barnes bullets use to come with the jag. My new CVA pistol comes with the jag for poly tipped bullets as well.
