To be really direct : Don't Do It !

We get it that the blurb on the can was premature , and misleading in effect , if not Olin Corp's initial intent. We get it that you are frustrated in these times of tight supply to have gotten your hopes up to be disapointed , but stuff happens. Move on. Several collectors have posted in this thread. Sell/ gift the WAAP to one of them , and buy a can of fast to medium. Speed pistol powder (currently produced) from ; Winchester , Hogdon's , IMR , Alliant , Ram Shot , Western , Accurate Arms , Vita Vhouri . All of those have mfg/ distributors in the US , and publish / or able to provide Data for their current offerings.

It seems the powder was made around 1997 and only for a couple of years.

I found a reference online, that there was load data for it in the 15th Edition of the WW reloading guide. So I found that reloading guide online, and it lists shotgun loads for WAAP, but no handgun loads.

I would sell or trade to a shotgun reloader. If you search, there are some recipes online, but like all online recipes, I wouldn't trust them.

I got it at a recent gun show and since I cannot seem to find any pistol powder elsewhere this looked like a good shot.

Mdeng Id take you up on that offer.

So reasoning that I am going to ignore the advice to dump it and according to the burn chart WAAP falls between Alliant American Select and Hodgdon Clays, which load data would you use.

When I test this I am going to be smart, I will have the gun secured and have the trigger pulled via a remote device.

Can you post a photo of the can? If it is a vintage type of can I will gladly trade you.
