I loaded a whole bunch of .40's for my Storm a while back and finally got a chance to shoot them yesterday. I loaded some 180 gr Hornady XTP' and 155 gr MG HP's in some mixed brass over Hodgdon Longshot powder. The 180 gr XTP ranged from 1250 to 1405 fps and had a substantial kick to them I only did about 10 of them as most that I loaded were the 155 gr Montana Gold P's The 155's were loaded with from 8.g to 9.3 gr of Longshot and had speeds ranging 1306 all the way up to 1717 fps:D I had several that clocked at 2103 and 2240 however they must have been misreads I can't imagine they were really going that fast:innocent0. I fired a few of those police loads with the bonded jacketed hp's (ranger) and they were moving pretty fast as well.:D I wonder how much the high temp's affected them.
