I'm going to keep on doing this till I get it right. I hope the pic is good this time. And YES, I like Hogue grips.

The only Ruger handguns I own are a couple of Blackhawks...no DA revolvers though I've always thought Ruger should never have dropped the Security-Six series. The GP-100 revolvers are excellent field guns but unnecessarily heavy and overbuilt for duty or home defense use. That doesn't mean the GP-100 revolvers aren't excellent guns...they certainly are.

Black hawk with Z coat Camo done in early 90's. I love the gun, but that damn trigger guard hurts with the heavy's.

I just picked up this Colt Cobra...had no real desire for it but the deal was simply too good to pass...it was on Gunbroker and I gave it a real lowball bid. I expected to be outbid but ended up winning it. It came with the original front sight plus a tritium sight already installed, an extra set of grips, several speed loaders, speed loader holders and a holster. I don't like the Hogue grips that it came with nor the Altamont wood grips so I put a set of Pachmayr Compacs I had on it...much better feel to me.

Here it is with the Cobra I picked up a couple of weeks ago...

Here's all my Colt Cobras...dating from the 1950s...

Here's the Cobra's near cousins...Colt Agents. The only substantive difference is the name on the barrel and shorter grips for better concealment...

    Very nice Colt collection!:party29:

I'm rather fond of my S&W model 19-3 2.5 inchers. There's just some simple elegance with a pinned and recessed revolver that was hand crafted back in the day.

    ...

Now, I'm fond of them too. Reminds me of the proportions of the Pre-27 3-inch revolvers that I also like, but in a slightly smaller package.

A recent pickup...a Colt Official Police made for the military in WWII. It was in the last batch shipped to the military prior to the Official Police being superseded by the Colt Commando revolver. It was sent to Raritan Arsenal but I don't know where it went following that...to the MPs, Military Intelligence...no idea. It has the military acceptance ordnance bomb as well as the prick punch mark under the barrel. The Gunbroker seller didn't do his homework...I paid a fair price for an Official Police but the military heritage jumps its value 2X-3X. I was the only one to bid on it so I got it for the bottom price...no one else noticed it either it seems. I love it when a plan comes together!

Probably my last purchase. S&W Model 681 no dash and no M (recall modification). Not a police trade in.
Need to find a good set of rubbers for it.

Need to find a good set of rubbers for it.

Some of those rubbers leave the back strap exposed and some cover the back strap. The covered back strap will increase trigger reach (length of pull) and probably cause a higher trigger pull effort. Hope you find a set you like.
