.22 King Cobra Target you say? Didn't know that was a thing

It's a thing...just announced at the recent NRA convention. None are in the distribution pipeline yet from what I understand...but soon. Stainless steel...10-shot capacity...what's not to like?

MSRP is $999 but I wouldn't expect to find any at that price for some time. Once the brokers get hold of them and start holding out for big bucks like they did the Cobra, Python and Anaconda...squeezing everyone else out for a time.

That King Cobra Target .22 is sweet. Always wanted a Diamondback in 22 but never got one…

1k for a 22 revolver is kinda stiff but that’s sure to be a fine gun and if I can (eventually when prices level out) get one for a thousand or less I would probably do it.

Seeing all of these beautiful stainless Colt snake guns, I pulled out my 2 stainless Smiths and polished the barrel to match the rest of the gun. Can’t figure why S&W doesn’t do a better job at making the barrel polishing the same as the rest of the gun. Did a little photo shoot with my Smiths on the wood pile. 686+ Deluxe 3” with Altamont boot grips, 629 Deluxe 3”, 586 4”, 1969 19-3 6” Combat Magnum.

Started with Bar Keepers Friend Cleanser, then Flitz paste. Finished it up with Mothers wheel polish. All done by hand with a microfiber cloth.

I was looking at a stainless colt king cobra carry, looked like a 2in barrel, in 357mag yesterday. It's a pretty gun with a nice trigger.

It was calling my name, but at $900 I have enough wheel guns for now.

Finally got this out to the range. It kicks you hard.

Not sure how this happened, but....

During one shot, a small peice of something hit me in the temple on the side of my head away from the gun. It was enough to draw blood, but not enough to require a bandaid. Whatever it was must have ricochet off the partition. The is no damage to the gun.

Glad you weren't seriously hurt. Were you shooting full power 357? Did you try it with 38+p? I've been looking at these for a while. Thanks for you input.

I shot some regular 38 special, some +p and some full power 357. I want to see how each felt. It was one of the 357 rounds that nailed me. My best guess at this point is that a piece of unburnt power escaped between the gap at the cylinder and bounced off the partition.

I've come to the realization that this is a lousy 357 magnum. The barrel is too short to get full power burn and good velocity.

As 357 magnums go, it's an ok 38 special...

Well, that's gorgeous. Knowing absolutely nothing about black powder guns, how big of a pain is it to clean up after shooting?
    .
I love black powder guns but I hate cleaning them. The Howell Arms .45 colt conversion allows me to shoot conventional .45 LC cartridges. That makes the clean up similar to any other modern revolver.

Edit: updated post with correct picture from the Howell Arms website.
