    He might like a couple of magazine pouches for the AR. One or two double mag, open top pouches for competition like three gun and maybe a couple closed top for carrying in the field and plinking are handy and not expensive. I don't know if there are any for the Garand.

    can't believe no one said it yet, the rifles need some brothers and sisters of various sizes. and a safe to store them all in.

    A 1.25" 1907 sling for the Garand and you and he go on a nice out of state road trip and get some 20 or 30 round AR mags. I prefer 20's for shooting off of the bench.

    If you want to spend more; a quality spotting scope is invaluable as others have said.

    O, and one can't have too many Garand clips
