I was wondering if any of my 2A brothers and sisters had a any recommendations for cabin camping.

Some friends and I want to camp and fish for a weekend, in October, and I figured some of the resident outdoors men would know a good spot.

    Here are the parameters:

Must sleep a min of 6 people
    Riverfront
Within 3 hours of Baltimore (preferably 2 hours)
Private or secluded (preferred, but not a deal breaker)
Cost about $600 or less for Friday and Saturday
    No alcohol prohibition

    Thanks!

Both of those are about 20 miles apart on the same road, and several smaller operations inbetween.

Conowingo has some rentals on the water. Can't beat the fishing and it's not very far away yet almost never crowded.

If you are considering a place on the Shenandoah River, I highly recommend that you contact The Perry's. They have several cabin rentals near Luray,Va. My husband and I have rented 2 of their river front cabins for our family vacations and we ended up making some of our all time favorite family memories on those trips! Comfortable and clean cabins with all the amenities you could ever need. Not to mention the cabins are literally steps from the river! Jeff and my husband started talking about guns and Chad ended up doing some gunsmithing work for him!

They must have updated their website because the link I have isn't working but if you email them they will get back to you asap.

Lake Moomaw has no cabins but it has lakeside camp sites. The lake is stocked with Steelhead and there are no houses around its circumference. Its beautiful there.

Its also a bit more than 3 hours but worth the drive.

Our family stayed here a couple years ago. Family owned, 2 cabins right on the river with a canoe. Has hot tub and the cabin was well kept. The family that owns it has a farm nearby. They invited us over so the kids could see the animals.

check out the cabins at the Delaware Seashore State Park, in the Indian River Marina....big, pretty private, cheap that time of year...lots of rock, and other fish right out your door.
