So I have a 74 and a receiver or two tucked away. Ive decided if im going to build something I want to do something different.

I had my eye on a .22 lr kit but it sold out while I was completely broke. I like the idea of a side folder / underfolder 47 or maybe a pistol but like I said main thing is want something a little different. Then I saw an rpk kit for very affordable as well as a barrel for a decent price. Any thoughts? Are rpks desireable? Most of the ones I had seen in the past were very expensive but that could just be supply and demand at a given time.

Has anyone built an rpk around here? Is it even possible to do with a 74 receiver. I know the mag and ejector need tweaked.

    All ideas appreciated!

I thing all RPKs used a thicker reciever. I know the Romanian RPK has a different front trunnion also. Similar to a Yugo I think? It is sort of T shaped if that makes sense.
