    Funny thing is the other 75th anniversary guns are pretty reasonable. I got
    one of the MKIV's for $475

    The price is probably because there doesn't seem to be a cap on the number of anniversary MkIV's produced. If there is a number, I haven't been able to find it.

    The 1911, on the other hand, is being marketed as a limited edition item. It is capped at 750 copies.

    You are correct. Respectful sources tell us they won’t even make the 750 mark.
