Took one in on consignment, appears unfired aside from factory proofing. Beautiful wood and overall condition, but the owner did remove the factory butt-pad and replaced it with a limb-saver slip-on pad/sleeve.

I have this completely crazy desire to attempt to shoot it, standing, and see if I can handle it - those who have met me in person know that I am not the biggest of guys. Well, seems Perrin is obliging that crazy desire of mine and has spent the $120+ to get a box of 416 Rigby shipped.

So, should we video this horrible/crazy idea? He thinks it'll be hilarious, I'm crazy enough to think I can handle it (maybe a bit optimistic/delusional, but ya never know until ya try... :D).

    I'll attach some pics shortly.

    Choot it!!
    From the bench. Hahaha.

I'm 5'8" and not very big. I've shot a lot of the big safari calibers. Most aren't fun. The worst was a 460 weatherby ultralight. I'd rather shoot ten rounds out of a steel buttplated 8bore double than ever touch that damn weatherby again.

*****I've shot a .375 H&H Magnum out of a not so heavy rifle and the recoil was just brutal. I'm gonna go out on a limb here and say if you decide to put an optic on it - uhhh make sure it's not an Airsoft optic or BB Gun one...

I load 300s for my friends 375h&h ruger no 1 and 500s for his mag mauser in 458wm. The 458 has an optic. So far so good. It's fun to watch people not grip them correctly.

Perrins response/quote - "Who said I'd call an ambulance for him? Just rub some dirt in it and call it good..."

I think even if it pops the left shoulder out, I can still pop it back in.

    Shoot it...
    shot the 375 H&H, 458 WM, 460 Weatherby
    piece of cake...

the 458 WM shut a guy up bragging about his 300 WM, let him try a 500gr FMJ
from bench, one shot, thanked me grabbed his stuff and left... "priceless"

Just be sure to pull it in VERY tight to your shoulder so it can't get a running start before it hits you, and shoot it first from standing so that you can roll with recoil. Hunkered down on a bench with it will be a big mistake.

Don't worry though, if you don't make it through this, we'll be fair in splitting up your gear.

BTW, what's the asking price for the rifle and 19 rounds?
