    If the firing pin is piercing the primer chech the main spring screw under the grip. Take the grips off and if there’s an adjusting screw - back it out a quarter turn. It puts pressure on the flat spring, I have a Model 27 which suffered from light strikes, tightened the screw and that corrected the problem.

    part # 55 is the hammer adjustment screw , back it off a quarter turn or so.

    This is a usual suspect , if the problem is failing to set off primer . But wouldn't cause the piercing and embedding in the primer .


    If the firing pin is piercing And Sticking , it's a problem with the firing pin . Broken , chipped , a burr , something .
