I want to do some archery hunting eventually and was thinking about picking up a samick sage recurve to start practicing. I'm new to archery so If I wanted to change the pounds of draw weight would I just have to get a new string and limbs or a whole new bow.

For the takedown recurve you would get new limbs. It is great bow. I have a Sage that I shot at states to qualify and will be shooting at the IBO World Championships in a few weeks. Make sure you get a bow stringer. If you are going to shoot off the shelf (traditional style) you will need to get shelf padding and a riser plate. Bear sells a kit that comes with both for cheap.

    Where they send me.
May be worth a ride over to Mt Airy, in the front of the Gun Shack there is a nice, knowledgeable small bow shop. Don't think they have the Sage in stock but they have others in the same price and and the know their stuff! Worth a ride to see/handle things and again, to deal with people who know their stuff.
