I'll admit that I am a hard person to gift for. That could be why Santa did what he did. My wife and I were walking through a gun show when we passed a display by DOS Arms. I said "Look. AR's are still for sale in Maryland." She said "Do you want one?" I said "I am more of a pistol shooter, but some day it would be nice to have one." I continued on and she lagged behind and talked to the people behind the table.
Fast forward to Christmas morning, and guess what is under the tree? I don't even know where to start. Well... I did go out and buy some ammo; that seemed like a logical step. I know where the scope goes, but I am not sure what to do with the laser and flashlight.
I have spent the last two days reading all those AR threads I usually skip over and watching a ton of YouTube. I am able to take it apart, clean it, lube it, and reassemble it now. My brother (ret. Army) was a big help.
I haven't pulled the trigger yet, but I already feel the excitement. No wonder people who have these guns act like addicts. I am already wondering what to add or change. The barrel is kind of heavy, so maybe a bi-pod is in the future.
By the way... Is anyone familiar with DOS Arms in Pasadena, MD. It would be nice to know what parts this gun was built with.
