Savage 338 Lapua

Anybody have any experience with either of the Savage rifles chambered in 338 Lapua? I wanted to get into a 50 BMG bolt action but my wallet won't let me. I know ammo is high for either one but it's not something I will shoot alot.

Have only shot 1, using S&B or Prvi 250gr BTHP ammo.

Shot fine, but was real hard to extract brass - wrote that off to it being a new rifle and hot ammo.

I was able to pop of about 7 rounds with one of the Savage 110B rifles. It had a lot less recoil than I expected. I really liked it!

I have lusted for one for a while. Only thing that's keeping me from buying one is the thought of spending more for glass than the rifle.

Nice thing about .338 you can reload it on most standard gear.

I had one and it shot awesome. With the brake, it didn't kick any worst than my .308, maybe even a little less.

A friend of mine has a Savage 110. I have shot it many times but have not had a chance to stretch its legs. With the muzzle brake, it has less recoil than a 300 WinMag.

From the reviews I read, it isn't really worth it. When looking at rifles in calibers like .338 lapua and .50bmg, you get what you pay for.

These rifles aren't up to the same standards as other savage bolt action rifles.

Save your money.

I have one and love it. But I do lust for a 50 bmg.
