Savage Mark II red dot optic suggestions.

This weekend I took my son (8 yo) to a junior session at Berwyn to introduce him to shooting and get some additional gun safety lessons. Well, my son loved it and he is now asking to go ever weekend and really when ever we can. During the session they used bolt action 22lr rifles with red dots on them. So once we got home I went to look through my safes to see what 22lr rifle options I had. Narrowed it down to the Savage Mark II, it’s prepared to receive a sight, I just need to figure out what to put on it.

I am not looking for anything expensive, but something durable as my son gets excited and doesn’t always set the rifled down with ease when he needs to reload, we are working on that.

Bushnell TRS-25 is inexpensive (~$60) and seems to work well for a red dot, not sure how it would mount on that however.
