If no one has already suggested it, Emu oil is the BEST thing for burns. Johns Hopkins Burn Center keeps 10 -15 gallons of it onhand for burn victims. It is AMAZING stuff.

I concur with others who have posted about Silvadeen. I had a nasty grease burn on my arm several years ago, 2nd degree about 1" x 1/2". I used as they directed an now my arm looks normal, even the hair grew back.
It doesn't necessarily have to be a "bad" burn for them to prescribe it. While the silver (yes, it actually has silver molecules in suspension win the cream) is a natural antibiotic, doctors aren't taking any chances with infections these days, especially with it being on your wife's face, anyone remember hearing about the girl who lost limbs from infection after zip-lining 3 weeks ago.
Just keep applying the Silvadeen 2x daily, and I also agree with the vitamin E oil after most of the healing is completed and she should be good as new. Goo luck, and now would be a perfect time to go back out and try again.

Happened to me a few months ago. It went away after a few weeks. It probably would have gone away faster, but I picked at the blister, and it scabbed up.
