Would "no comment" be a lie??
I don't answer questions. I see no reason why anyone would need to know whether I am engaged in a constitutionally protected activity.

    "It's for officer safety"

    - The guy intent on shooting the po-po will lie
    - The guy who is not a threat is not a threat whether armed or not....

STOP inserting common sense into the equation, this is Maryland after all!

    No place for that here!

My insistence on doing only what makes sense has not been my friend in life, sadly.
An old friend's grandmother would always ask me whether I was being good. Invariably my answer was yes. Her response would be "then you aren't having any fun." True dat.

You absolutely can lie. Only the false reporting of a crime to the police is illegal in MD.

Apparently it is a federal crime to lie to the FBI. Ironic is hardly the word.

(Not that they're going to pull you over in a traffic stop. More likely, they'll have an entire tactical team turn your vehicle into scrap and body parts).

You know, it's getting harder and harder to use hyperbole as a rhetorical device these days. Reality seems delighted to exceed the bounds of satire.

Kind of like now you really have to ask if something written by the Babylon Bee or not. There was a time when stuff like that was funny, now not so much.

Bonnie and Clyde gasp weakly in agreement.
Peckinpah's pornography of violence seems to have taken root in society. Or maybe it was always lurking under the surface, and we've made it easier to contemplate and enjoy?

Lying to the FBI is a different story. My post was in response to lying to the police during a traffic stop (in MD, not sure about other states).

I have my MD obviously, then I went and got my PA and FL permits. Those 3 bundled allow you to carry in 38 states. You can use USCCA's permit bundle system to see which states and what restrictions.

Recently moved to SC. Still have my MD W&C and PA non-resident (had the address changed for both), but am letting my Utah non-resident expire. It only adds Washington state and I'm not considering visiting there anytime soon. I don't understand why Colorado is so picky unless it's because all the Californians who moved there.

I can casually think of a dozen ancient and not so ancient cultures/civilizations that elevated violence and the depiction of it to an art form.

    Denver has become LA East.
