It's the federal law idiot Frosh! MD law contradicts Federal laws. This bill makes 3 year misdemeanor, then Fed law kicks in and bars you from even owning a gun. Therefore, GUN BAN Bill!

Amendment to make it a civil law might not help, because that Federal law might not make a distinction between Civil and Criminal. Immigration law is CIVIL LAW, but they can still lock you up and throw away the key.

Some of these Senators challenging Frosh are well-schooled. Much better than the SJC

So if you have a gun collection which includes one of the banned guns, and you don't realize you have to register that/those guns, and the police come to your home and find them.....you are screwed. Jailed and/or fined PER gun of up to 10 years and $250,00??

    Did I hear that right?

3 years per gun per MD law, then you have also become guilty under a federal statute that would qualify you for 10 years per gun on top of that.

How does 1 dealer selling guns legally sell the licensing issue. How would the licensing keep a DEALER from selling to people ILLEGALLY?
