I got my first suppressor after a 10 month wait. Took it to the range yesterday and was amazed at how quiet it made things. The first round was CCI quiet out of a GSG 1911-22. After I pulled the trigger I wondered for a second if it had even fired! Amazingly quiet. It did not cycle the action completely though. The empty shell stove piped. Every round in that magazine did the same thing. I swapped the suppressor to my Beretta M9-22 and had the same results. I'll save the CCI quiet for my bolt gun. It worked fine in that. I switched over to CCI standard velocity next and that also was very quiet and cycled the action in both pistols. Only a bit louder than the quiet ammo. No hearing protection needed with either. Only other issue was the front sight on the Beretta was not tall enough to see over the can. GSG was tall enough and worked great. Also tried some golden bullets and they were also very quiet with this can. I'm using a Rugged Mustang 22 can.
I tried the rifles next. First up was the Ruger American Rimfire. Unbelievably quiet with CCI quiet and almost as quiet with std. velocity. Shot low left at 50 yds though. Next up was the Ruger 10/22 takedown. I didn't try the CCI quiet in that one, just std. velocity. Very quiet and cycled perfectly. I'm still amazed at what these suppressors can do. You'd think the government would try to make suppressors mandatory instead of trying to make them so hard to obtain.
