A humble sampling of my bayonet collection.
Is the fingerguard an add on or did it come like that?
Q
This is an experimental knuckle guard. Only one side of the handle grip was replaced on an otherwise standard M7 bayonet. From what I have read, these were Vietnam era but never adopted or officially used by the U.S. military. I have heard stories of servicemen carrying them overseas but the stories were unsubstantiated. I suppose it could be true as these were commercially available. I never could find any information on them until the internet came along years later. Pretty cool design. They came in both heat treated aluminum and brass. Mine is brass.
Coolest knife I have. No idea how old it is. I got it from my dad, who says he got it in the late 50s, early 60s, but can't remember where. Kinda Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom kinda blade. Blade looks to have been sharpened, a lot. It is worn, but very sharp. A skull, with a snake wrapping around it, some gemstones missing. Balances pretty nice though.
Galazan knife my FIL kept on his boat. Cleaned up nicely.

Is that a coffee table display case? I think you need another one
