THERE WILL BE NO BENDING OF AK FLATS INTO RECIEVERS AT THIS EVENT
IF YOU SHOW UP WITH AK FLATS OR BENDING JIGS YOU WILL BE ASKED TO LEAVE

I want to host an AK build party one Saturday, either April 5th or 12th. I live in Charles County near Hughesville. I have a grill and garage frig if anyone wants to bring food. If anyone finishes their build it can be test fired here.

I have the following tools and jigs:
    • 20-ton press
    • Barrel press
    • Rivet jig
    • Trigger guard rivet jig
    • 7.62 GO and NO-GO headspace gauges
    • Rail alignment jig
    • Spot welder
    • MIG welder
    • Torches
    • Belt sander
    • Grinder
    • Large bench vice
    • Large air compressor
    • BFH and assorted hand tools

I'd be interested in attending. I'll have to see how my schedule is. I have 5.45 hs guages.

I would love to come to this, but I'm not sure if I will have my receiver parked by then.

Personally I would rivet the trunnions, , trigger guard, weld in the rails, center support rivet, press in the barrel, and drill the barrel pin. You can press out the barrel and then send the receiver to be parkerized.

When I purchase a parkerizing tank setup it will be 40" long so I can drop in the assembled receiver/barrel as one piece.

I bought the EZ model from nodak so it's all pre-drilled and the rails are welded on. I was thinking about parking the stripped receiver, riveting then painting the receiver. I came up with this plan since the kit I plan on buying from AK builder seems to have painted parts. Or do you think assembling the receiver then getting it parked is still a better way to go?

So no one else is interested?

I'm interested, but unfortunately, I still need to collect some parts. With a wedding coming up in 3 months, buying them may send her off the deep end.

I've got a receiver already bent, and I just need a de-milled kit to make it work.
