Considered as mags... Don't think so.

    YMMV

A box of ammo in their fancy dividers considered a mag ;)

But you can't reload with a box of ammo. Speedloaders are essentially magazine equivalents for revolvers.

I'd guess they could be banned too if someone cared enough. I'd be interested in seeing the number of >=10rnd 22LR speedloaded revolvers used in crimes in MD.

Speed loader is not part of the gun that is required to shoot it. (Yes you can shoot without a mag too). But you guys are over thinking this.

Ok, you got me there. All I meant was that a speedloader and a magazine share a key quality: they are intended for the loading and quick firing of multiple shots. You could argue a revolver's "magazine" is the cylinder itself and strictly speaking, I think you'd be right. Either way, I was just trying to play devil's advocate. It definitely is an interesting question.

Wow, to differentiate between a speed loader and a moon clip.

    Wow, just wow.

(Man, I know you're kidding, but you know, too, that there are many out there that wouldn't be on this subject.)

    And, oh, yeah: wow.

Would a revolver holding 9 or 10 rounds be illegal in states with a 7 or 8 limit in magazines?
Would the revolver cylinder be considered a revolvers magazine?

What state has a 8 rd limit? I know NY talked about it, but I think they settled on 10.

That was my question too. I mean, functionally, a revolver's cylinder acts more or less like a magazine in that it facilitates cycling cartridges with just a trigger pull.
