I am very interested in this gun, but having trouble finding any, at least in good or better condition. I spoke with Sarco this morning and was told the Stars they have are less than good condition. Anyone point me to a supplier? keith

For the price, and with it being c&r, you should just go ahead and get it. Sarco used to have "gunsmith special" stars, you could get like 3 of them for the price of 1, and usually build 2 shooters and have a spare one to fix or rebuild.

    GUNSMITH SPECIAL:
STAR "MODELO SUPER" 9MM PISTOL "THE MAGNUM OF THE 9MM" - Variant of Browning /Colt design. Made in Spain by Star years ago, probably for police or military issue. Gun has 5 inch barrel., chambered for 9mm Largo cartridge (not 9mm Luger). Very good condition, blued with checkered grips. These are complete guns, but will have functional problems (such as half-0cock slippage, etc) and will require knowledgeable gunsmithing. Not safe to fire as-is. Gunsmith Price ... $99.95 ea., 3 for $279.50 GUN042

Extra Star Super Magazines available at these special prices with purchase of a pistol only, 1 magazine... $9.95, 3 for $28.50

there was a flood of them a few years ago (at least, at gun shows out West) but the ones now easy to find are often not as clean/tight. I scored a good one several years back and have been pleased with it.

Thanks guys, I may do exactly that. Maybe Sarco is the only one that has any. I thought there would be many more on the market for as many years as they produced them. keith

A friend of mine got his in decent condition for 160, he had to pay a small amount more to get one C&R eligible, I thought he got it from Sarco but I could be wrong. It was functionally fine but a bit worn, cleaned up quite nicely.
