Starbucks Caves to Moms Demand, or to Us?

Starbucks has announced that open carry is now "unwelcome" in their stores, although it is not banned. This is a victory for Moms Demand, but it's a hollow one at best.

But the real issue here is that Starbucks didn't really cave to pressure from Moms Demand, they caved to gun owners open carrying en masse scaring their other patrons. If we hadn't responded in quite the manner we did, Starbucks may not have even noticed and carried on as always.

The moral of the story here: always fight the good fight, but don't always fight it right in someones face. Sometimes you need a scalpel, not a bazooka.

The blame for this is 100% at the feet of 'open carry activists'. Open carry is a perfectly reasonable thing to do where legal, but doing it as 'activism' is 99% attention whoring.

Lawful open carry by individuals is one thing. Groups of armed demonstrators are another thing entirely.
