got this e-mail today from Dudley Brown from the National Association of Gun Rights:
Dear xxxx,
Have you heard that Barack Obama is going to be in Annapolis tomorrow during the State Legislature’s gun hearings?
Rumor is that both Obama and gun-grabbing New York City Mayor Michael Bloomberg plan to testify against your Second Amendment Rights.
Here are just some of the attacks on your right to keep and bear arms in Maryland Senate Bill 281:
*** FORCED gun registration for legally purchased rifles. The Penalty for not complying is up to 3 years in jail and a $5,000 fine;
*** BANNING of any semi-automatic rifles from the State of Maryland, and;
*** FORBIDDING the sale, transfer, or manufacture of any magazines larger than 10 rounds.
But we won’t let our rights go without a fight.
The National Association for Gun Rights has stood up against President Barack Obama and Senator Diane Feinstein already.
Now, we will stand up against Maryland Governor Martin O’Malley and his cronies in the Maryland State Senate pushing gun control.
In order to fight back against these tyrannical actions, we must organize, mobilize, and implement a plan to win.
We need grassroots leaders like you who understand that our future is on the line.
Your help is needed.
Tomorrow, February 6th at 10:45 AM, hundreds of Second Amendment supporters will be at the state capitol to show Obama, Bloomberg, and O’Malley that we mean business.
If you can, please come by and express your support for your gun rights. The address is 100 State Circle in Annapolis, MD 21401.
Show the anti-gun politicians that gun owners will not sit idly by while our God-given rights are attacked.
Please contact Patrick at Patrick@MarylandLiberty.org if you can volunteer to collect petition signatures at the Second Amendment Rally.
Each grassroots leader who helps for 1 hour or more at the Rally this Wednesday will receive a NAGR hat or T-shirt as a token of appreciation.
Then comes the hearing...
Tomorrow afternoon, at 1:00 PM is the Maryland Senate hearing on Senate Bill 281. If you would like to testify, here are details:
Senate Judicial Proceedings Committee room
Miller Senate Building
11 Bladen Street
Annapolis MD, 21401
If you are testifying: Please arrive as early as possible to sign in, the committee will take sign-ins until about noon.
You will be given 3 minutes to speak.
If you are submitting written testimony you must bring a copy for each of the Senators who sit on the committee (11 copies) and submit them to Committee staff before noon so they can make sure all of the Senators have the materials on their desks.
There are various parking garages in Annapolis, or you can park at the Naval Academy Stadium and ride the Annapolis Shuttle/Trolley to Lawyers Mall- The Senate Building is right across the Street.
Be prepared to spend the whole day there, whether you testify or not.
We have a long battle ahead of us, and I am encouraged by the energy and passion of Patriots I meet all over the Country.
Let’s show the rest of America that we have not given up in Maryland.
Our kids and grandchildren are counting on us.
Thank you in advance for your action.
For Freedom,
Dudley Brown
Executive Vice President
