Maryland’s “good and substantial reason” means that law-abiding citizens are denied their Second Amendment rights if they cannot prove that they need to carry a firearm for self-defense. Since Maryland is a “May Issue” state, residents are not guaranteed a concealed carry permit.

The government wants gun control because fixing the mental health and gang problems in this country doesn't fit with the election schedule, and having millions of citizens with the power to force the government to do their bidding is scary.

the people don't want gun control. They want their streets to be safe and their kids to not die, but many lack the ability to understand statistics or correlation vs causation.

The political left is not concerned with solving problems...they want issues. If the problem is solved they have no issue to stir public emotions with. They want power...a peaceful, law-abiding society that's respectful of individual liberties deprives them of that power they believe is their birthright.

No one...NO ONE...wants to see these tragedies and deaths stop more than legitimate gun owners! The media paints us as "gun nuts" who don't care about the deaths and destruction as long as we get to cling to our guns. Nothing is further from the truth. We want to deal with solving these issues at least as much as anyone else...if not more so...and do it while respecting the rights of all and the Constitution. The political left starts with restricting rights of the law-abiding and avoiding the real causes.
