T/C 22 K-Hornet Rifle Barrel

One of my neighbors gave me this barrel today. After I took this picture it cleaned up quite well. The bore is so pristine it looks as though it was never shot. The outside cleaned up to almost new, with a very few surface blemishes and some very minor cosmetic scratching. And it has 1" scope mounts which I removed for this picture.

The previous owner passed away and had a significant collection of goodies, or so I'm told. This seemed to be the only oddball item. If it has any value, I'd want to give that back to the family that lost their loved one, but I have no idea what to do with it. Any suggestions? Thanks in advance.

That's a very nice barrel. I have several Custom Shop barrels, including a 21" regular .22 Hornet and they've all been great.

FWIW, I just received an offer of $175. I haven't made a final decision yet as I'm waiting to hear from my neighbor. This barrel has a lot more value than I imagined.

It cleaned up pretty well. There are some very fine scratches near the breech, but other than that its pretty close to new condition.

Still waiting to hear from my neighbor on how he wants to proceed. I'll post up when I get an answer. Thanks for your patience.

Is it a Contender or an Encore barrel and how long is it?
I have wanted a .22 K-Hornet for a long time. I will up the bid depending on the answers.

Thanks to everyone for your terrific and helpful contributions. Earlier today one of our members already committed to buy it later this week, and I expect the barrel will find a wonderful new home where it can be truly appreciated.

Glad you found a buyer $250+ is about right. 22K-Hornet is a nice round
to load for. the 10" barrels bring some cheddar also, noticed it was a
Custom shop one...
