A neighbor texted me this link asking if I knew anything about these Armscorp mfr’ed pistols and I had to be honest; I’ve never even heard of Taylor’s & Co.

Do any members here own or have any firsthand experience with this 9mm 1911?

A firsthand report here on MDS is worth roughly 100 reviews written by who knows who or a bot ….

Thanks in advance for any hands on or firsthand knowledge any can share!

I was there a month ago to pick up a Chiappa 1892 Alaskan takedown, and they had about a dozen of those 1911s in the front case. I didn't look closely, but can heartily recommend the folks at Taylor's as good folks with good customer service.

    Wow, Thank You, ALL!

”Learn something new every day,” and I had no idea.

Guess I’ll be curious as to whether or not he ordered one … and I’d said if Tisas / SDS came out with a 1911 9mm I’d likely. The one PSA is selling looks even better (nice rear sight, etc.)

Hmm, I wonder if Wilson Combat is still running their “buy 3 get a fourth free” special ???

Taylor's has two semi-annual open houses every year...they welcome everyone with entertainment and food vendors. They also have great rices on dinged and dented items as well...some barely noticeable. If anyone wants a god time you should check these events out. Get on their website and give them your email and you'll get notices when these events are coming up.

Under $400 for a 1911 seems like a great deal. Never shot a 1911 in 9mm. Wonder if PSA would ship to MD? I know in the past they've been a bit sketchy with shipping AR's and lowers to MD.

Well it's essentially a RIA tactical in 9mm. Way way back in the day before corona, the panic, and inflation a RIA tactical in .45 was about this price. Taylor's has a good rep in general. On their site it's listed with an MSRP of about $570 or so. If you look for what a RIA tactical in 9mm is going for today, or really any 1911 in 9mm be it a Commander or full size today, it's more than this price....same for anything in .45 also. In general, these imported 1911 lines from the PI and Turkey that have GI and Tactical configurations, the Tactical configs (upgraded sights, milled slide for those sights, beaver tail, hammer, trigger, etc...) are a great bang for the minimal extra bucks you pay for the tactical add ons vs the GI config. I've got a Commander sized RIA tacitcal in .45 and it's been great, take down is a little of a a pain though. Is it a BIN now price given that you'll pay tax and shipping? I think so, but it also wouldn't surprise me with the econmony and something of a glut of certain things in the market you might see it at a lower price later, maybe on black friday......would depend on how many of these PSA got from Taylors....I wouldn't think that many but who knows.

I think we'd rather take a wrong spelling over the wrong word,
    "peaked".

I have to say it was somewhat amusing being corrected. I erred on the side of ok maybe the guy correcting wasn’t being a douche and really just wanted everybody to know the correct spelling.

What got me was he used another ‘fancy’ word which he spelled correctly that I couldn’t fault him for. Doh!

Now I realize the only way to get over the whole situation is to acquire one of those Schofields.

    “Piqued” is correct.

    Dang, I had not considered a 1911 in 10mm. I was considering getting a 10mm P320. Now I'm torn between the two

I already have a 9mm 1911 and am fond of it. The only problem I've had with it is being picky about mag followers. The right McCormick followers and all my 9mm 1911 mags work perfectly.

I have owned and worked on a number of RIA 1911's. I don't think I would get one in 10mm as their heat treatment and tolerances aren't consistent.

For a base gun to make into an IDPA gun or carry gun, they work just fine.
