No doubt there's new competition generated every day.

And wouldn't want to slight the media:

Listened to some dem from RI explain how a stock and flash hider make a firearm deadlier. The guy on TV doing the interview kept asking him how that made them deadlier and he said it makes them an assault rife that's why. I wanted to reach through the TV and smack him. Are all dems stupid? Does towing the party line burn up brain cells?

In many cases the politicians are not stupid but they count on their constituents being stupid. That is how they get elected and stay in office.

Our esteemed congressman, Dutch Ruppersberger, was on the Jimmy Mathis show on WBAL this morning from 9:00-10:00. He's more articulate than most of his Democrat colleagues, but that only makes him more persuasive when he's spinning. Jimmy Mathis was respectful, but he did call him on a couple of talking points about "gun control". He tried the old, "the Second Amendment only applies to civilian possession of single shot muskets" and got hammered. Then he referred to the AR-15 as a military automatic weapon and got slapped down. Then he complained about the "do nothing Congress" not allowing a vote in the House on "no fly, no buy" and was reminded that we have due process precisely to prevent bureaucrats from taking away our rights.
