There were several of these filed. Self protection as a G&S reason for a wear and carry permit. Lowering the price of an HQL and doing away with the 1 shot requirement. Changing the length of the permit to 5 years. No finger prints for renewal.

What's happening with these? Any traction?

They had hearings in the Senate this past Wednesday, 3/9, and will be heard by the House Judiciary committee on Tuesday, 3/15, at 1:00 pm. If you cannot come down to testify, you can submit written testimony.

There is no record of a vote on the bills heard in the Senate at this time but you can track the individual bills on the MGA website.

We have to keep coming back year after year.

Persistence is the tactic used by the progressives. Once upon a time the pro 2A community used the wear them down approach by coming back year after year. For the states that recently passed constitutional or open carry laws, those efforts took years.

Sadly some here want to give up after one or two tries.

If you can't show up in Annapolis on the 15th to testify for the pro 2A bills please take the time to call and then email each member of the committee.

And then plan to do it again this time next year.

Wasn't there a procedural move to get a bill out of committee to a full floor vote?
I'd be really curious where MD stands right now on shall issue but the bills are always desk drawer vetoed to protect politicians in competitive districts.

Going to push for automatic 1 year jail time for not having a permit you might as well offer permit options. They need to view it as a free tax as in a tax that people are willing to pay. Permit fees...

Every year since at least 1988 and it's only gotten worse...When does it go from persistence to insanity?
