TIGHTENED 1911 SLIDE

how do you loosen a previously tightened 1911 slide, without working on the frame and just the slide rails?

Shoot it. Otherwise you can lap it with JB Bore Paste. A little goes a LONG way so take the whole gun apart and only lap the slide and frame. Just about 30 cycles by hand will loosen it up but not sloppy.If you dont strip it down to bare frame and slide the lapping compound will creep in the internals and wear parts rapidly.

Unless you have a mill with the proper bits your not going to open the slide evenly. You can use stones but it wont be even.
