    I remember SKSs for $80! Should-a Could-a Would-a.... Ah hindsight once again is 20/20.
I did get some 91/30's, M44's and unissued Yugo SKS which I held onto for years. Got more than 5 times what I paid back in the day.

If only we knew. I would have a bought a boxcar full!
I think the mosins would have probably dried up by now if they had continued to be imported but man if you look at some of the storage areas in the ukraine the russians captured. Millions of rifles literally. The only thing that is stopping the cheap days of mosins again is the us goverment.

Back then when I was heavy into buying Milsurps I noticed the prices climbing. I did buy the whole crate of Mosin 91/30's. Its a table now and never actually went through what I have. Bought like four M44's also and never shot. I also packed away two SKS's. The one is the shorter one which some call the paratrooper. Still in boxes with accessories. I did have another paratrooper which I gave to one of my sons and he shoots it still.

So this reminds me of a story. I moved to my current house in 2005. In 2015, we a had some water damage to the basement so I had to move the safe. I found a 91/30 in its original shipping carton, still covered in the devils snot. It had my OLD address on it. I looked it up in my bound book and saw I purchased in the late 80's. I turned a nice profit on it even covered in cosmoline. I apparently put it behind the safe to come back to it later to clean. Later never happened. I forgot about it.
