I know this is a long shot but what the hell.

I have an old shotgun that I am cleaning up for a friend. The trigger guard is broken and someone in the past had tried to repair it without success. This is a Spanish shotgun made in Eibar by a maker named Martin Ugarteburu.

Overall it is excellent but I would love to replace the trigger guard with a similar unit. It doesn't have to have the engraving but at least fit.

Does anyone have any ideas on where I could possibly find a replacement? Or does anyone have one they would sell? Either way, any help would be great.

Its gonna be hard to find one that doesn't leave a little to be desired because of the long tang. I would repair it with silver solder after removing it ( the screw ) from the bottom of the frame. Brownell's carries a short bow but it is a little pricey. You may find something in Dixie Gun Works that could be fitted from a BP SXS or an old junk-box from your favorite smith. I would work with what you already have, looks like a nice gun. It looks like it has taken a pretty good hit to the wrist and been doweled together hence the broken bow

I have this one, which seems to be a reasonable match.

The pictures are on 1/4" graph paper, so you can determine if it is or not.

Keep in mind the tang could be bent slightly from what you have. This is from a pile of trigger guards I bought, trying to find one for a SXS I was repairing.

In the am I will measure that one that I need to replace and see if it matches. Thank you guys for the response.

Muggs, what is your price if I determine it will fit?
