That link showed the smoke direction as NW, so fire is moving that way...Sparks and Butler are in the path.

Man on the radio said it was jumping firelines. Hopefully it will stop at 795

Up to 8 alarms according to WBAL. I live just a couple of miles away…hoping and praying the fire crews are able to get ahead of it (and of course that no one is hurt…)

Sparks and Butler aren’t NW of Soldiers Delight, they’d be NorthEAST.

I’d keep an ear on the scanner. This is no where near under control

Thats crazy. One of my friends has a farm there and an older house he rehabbed there. His land is grass fields and woods and surrounded by Soldiers Delight park. He lives right at the end of Wards Chapel RD. and right on Stang Road to dead end. Not good as he has outbuildings and barns surrounded by tall grass all around. I will have to try and get in touch with him.

I know it is hard to believe but it is pretty dry in the woods right now. Since I live in the woods, I get concerned when it gets too dry. We have no pressure water and only a small stream that is too far away for fire trucks to draw from.

Equipment running up and down Deer Park ferrying water up to the fire. Helicopters flying by to drop water. Heard bulldozers were being brought in to cut fire lines. They were trying to keep it from jumping Ward's Chapel Rd, haven't heard if they were successful.
When the fire first broke out, wife was busy trying to get the cats into crates because we were unclear on where the evacuations would be.
Talked to the neighbor across the street. Her husband is involved with the fire department. Apparently this is the third fire in the last few days.

And here I’ve been complaining recently about it raining on my weekends an awful lot lately. We’re definitely too dry, I hope they get this put down quickly.
