The 5th Circuit just upheld a conviction for a violation of federal law prohibiting individuals subject to certain domestic violence protective orders from possessing firearms or ammunition for any purpose. 18 U.S.C. § 922(g)(8).

I'm unsure what the true impacts of this case are, but I personally believe that McGinnis likely falls into the "mentally not all there" category. Pretending to be a CIA agent with what was no doubt a hit list regarding 9/11 in your backpack and having a history of physical violence in the home? I'd rather not be around that guy at the range.
