Well, I bought a LCP MAX this morning

I decided I was going to get it and also decided to give Bay Country Guns a try. There have been two people in there when I have gone to the store. One is a big guy and the other is a young lady. They were both pleasant to me but the young lady is the one who sold me the gun.

They did not have any in stock, and I didn't expect them to. In any case, I wanted the model with the stainless steel slide and figured I would have to order it. They gave me a priced cheaper than if I bought one from Bud's and then had to do a transfer.

For those of you who still shoot milsurps, they have a Hakim in the rack but I didn't ask what caliber it was. I suggest some of our MDS brethren who live in the area should check them out and see what you think.

I can tell you that my reloads are the most accurate. That said, I carry Hornady Critical defense and NovX Engagement Extreme. I stack them with one NOV X in the chamber and another on top of the mag and the rest Critical Defense.

I use both for a reason. The NOV X has the least recoil of any defense ammo I have tested. Having one in the chamber and one on top of the mag allows me to get off two fast accurate shots immediately where with other ammo, the muzzle flip slows down the rounds down range. The Critical Defense gives me a heavier bullet but still with less recoil say than Gold Dot. Both of these shoot to POA for MY gun.

If they would have shot to POA, I would have used the Underwood Extreme Penetrators that I use in my P365 and Diamondback DB9. However, both the 68 and 90 grain both shoot to the seven oclock area about three inches away from the center of the target in the LCP II.

That's what I get regardless of load!

At defensive ranges, that's good enough for me.

Have you compared it with the Critical Defense 'lite' in the pink box? If it is better than that I may have to get some for my wife to try. She has some grip issues and is sensitive to recoil.

No I have not. I'll have to see if I can find some and try it out.

Update. I just found out they don't make CD lite for .380.

Lol, I encountered a similar problem.
Novx doesn't appear to make .38 special.

PSA just had the Ruger LCP MAX on sale for $299. They may still be that price.

They also had a CZ Shadow 2 Blue for $929. When I decided to buy it several hours later it was sold out.
