Well, I finally picked up a C9. My dealer pricing + the discount they were dumping em for has me $150 in after all is said and done. Hardcase and Tuff1 grip glove included in this one. I'm probably gonna have the slide cerakoted to some crazy neon pink or something...but first I'm gonna run a few boxes through it and break 'er in. I can feel the rough spots, and see a few spots that need to be "deburred"...but simply shooting it a few hundred times should do that. Anyone else have one of these?

That’s still on my list to get. Can’t stand them after handling one at the store some time back. But I want one in the collection just to say I have one when talking trash about them. I want the newer 10mm one too. And for the price, I wouldn’t feel bad if/when it breaks.

Any other self respecting handgun will try to kill that to take it out of the gene pool. LOL

    Good luck...

I don't think too much of their pistols but their carbines are very accurate and run on anything. When their carbines first came out me and my partner sold them at gun shows when I had my gunsmithing business. I got curious one day and took one up to AGC for a workup. I was amazed that something that felt so cheap, shot so well. We actually posted one of the targets I shot at out table and I think it increased sales.

That said, the early models were flimsey but would stiffen up if you filled them with foam. The newer models appear to be built better but, not having shot one, I don,t know if they still run well.

What the hell were you thinking?!?!?

Compared to his collection in the other thread , the Hi Point is a huge step up !

If you can suspend disbelief about the Ugly , unbalanced , ugly , and more embarassing to be seen with than going into the no tell motel with Brian Frosh in a dress , it's a functional pistol .

It reliable ( at least with FMJ) , and durable . It's an internet , and print cliche about a gun guy picking up a dirt cheap Hi Point on a hoot to kill it , to what a poc it is . Then 5, 10, 20K rounds later , they admit it's going strong , with minimal wear signs , and they can't kill it .

Highpoint straight blowback pistol. The fugliest pistol to ever have a trigger. If I 'd a bought that thing it would have been a personal secret.

worst gun I ever owned. Constant stove piping and other jamming. 3 times back to mfgr. no help.

Sold it to a member here. He disassembled and re worked and polished everything. Shot the hell out of it and it was never quite right.

Note: I have owned .380, 9mm, .40 & .45 versions of high point pistols. the .380 was most accurate and never had a single issue. The 40 & 45 were ok but just uncomfortable for me to shoot a lot. Sold 3 to one member and the 45 to Jeff Hulbert RIP.

I went to the range one time with a friend who wanted to own a pistol but went cheap and bought one of these things. Well, he was having jam after jam while my pistol was running like a sewing machine. About twenty minutes of frustration later, he asks me in an exasperated voice why my pistol is running so well and he's having so many problems.

    "I'm shooting a P7."

"Well, I want one of those. How much does that cost?"

    "About a thousand bucks."

    "What?!?!? That's crazy!!"

"How's that money you saved working out for you?"

We stayed friends but that's the last time we went shooting.

I've had luck getting almost every single one of the Ring Of Fire guns to run reliably; so this one should be a slam dunk. My junky Jimenez JA-22 is about 100% reliable with Rem Golden Bullets...after about 1000 rounds I can confidently say that. Phoenix HP22A same thing after around 1300 rounds or so, eats absolutely everything though...that sucker does great little 20yd offhand groups.
