Pretty simple. I have about $1200. I also have a can and plenty of subsonic 9mm. I am debating buying a threaded Glock 17 and some 7.62 and 5.56 ammo (as much as I can), or a Sig P226 with a threaded barrel.

If you don't hurry, $1,200 will only get you a box of 5.56

Get the Sig. Or better still, get an HK.

Lol. Running an HK 45, Specifically looking at those two 9mm's at this particular time. It's not an end all list.

And I'm sitting on plenty of M855, eyeballing some Mk 262.

    Roger. Copy.

I've tried to make a habit to buy the best gun and or glass that I can when I'm in the market.

More ammo is never bad UNLESS you don't have reliable weapons to feed it to.

Nnztg8r, I used to think that, then one year I bought more guns than ammo, and found I spent a whole lot less time shooting. I'm still an quality snob, but I buy less guns and more ammo and enjoy the heck out of what I have. No safe queens here.

edit..., wait, I may have misread your reply. lol... Well, I'm on the fence with what to buy, hence the poll. ;-)

Give me one reason not to get a Glock...

Reliable, accurate, great parts availability for upgrades, suppress wonderfully, etc...

There is a nice 226 that keeps popping up in the classifieds with multiple slides and barrels. Not mine but I have the same configuration and its sweet.

If you could snag it at a reasonable price you probably would have the $$$s to buy a threaded barrel and a couple extra mags for your budget.

Glock 17 in my very biased opinion. First gun I owned. Very easy to get comfortable with. Short learning curve. Easy to take care of. Common ammo and parts. Its a safe investment.
