Hey. Like a knucklehead I left Bullseye in my RCBS CM1500 accidentally. It has been there in the garage for about 3 weeks and now the green plastic is "etched" because of the leftover powder.

Is there any way to clean this up sufficiently? Also, will this instance harm the scale lomg-term?

Although their lifetime warranty doesn't apply to electronics and you're at fault, I'd still call RCBS. Their customer service is outstanding and they may take pity on you.

I have heard that Orange Goop will clean it plastic powder measures.

I have not tried it myself.

Scrape the powder off and keep loading, it what I did and it hasn't been an issue.

Just think of it as a nice reminder to empty out reservoirs sitting on your bench in the mean time.

Been there. Done that.... with exactly the same powder!!! (My experience was only for a day or two, though!)

The only difference was my powder measure used was the Uniflow Powder Measure.

First, pour the remaining Bullseye back into the container.

Disassemble the powder measure and wash it (just the plastic 'hopper') with warm water and dishwashing soap.
    Rinse thoroughly.
    Dry thoroughly.

Now, here comes the restoration part.
    Get some 0000 steel wool.
Piece of wooden dowel, 3/8" to 1/2" in diameter.
Cut a wide slot in one end of the dowel (enough to secure a piece of that 0000 steel wool).
    FLITZ polish.
Chuck the non-slotted end of the dowel into a drill. Cordless/corded - it doesn't matter.

Put about a nickel's worth (diameter) of Flitz on the steel wool and push the steel wool into the 'hopper' and start the drill and go back/forth (up/down) in the 'hopper' just as you would when honing an engine's cylinder.

At first, the drill should be turning slowly, then as you progress, drill speed can increase.

    This may take some time.

Remove the Flitz with a couple of paper towels secured in the dowel and repeat the 'honing' action/motion.

Wash in warm water with dish detergent, again.
    Dry.

It won't be perfect, but, at least powder granules/grains won't get hung up in the powder hopper.

Most important thing - DO NOT leave Bullseye in the powder measure!!!

    Good luck.

    Thanks guys!

I do have OCD!!! ... but I sorta thought all reloaders did!? :-)

You may be right. You do 50 or 100 repetitions of the exact same step. You worry about 1/1000 of an inch, you measure in tenths of a grain. Then you label it all and take notes on the results.
