I agree. Your mismatched quarter panel analogy explains my feelings better than I could. Of course...some people like mismatched panels to show off their carbon fiber (or fake) hoods. I don't usually worry too much about a gun's appearance, but to me, it just looks unfinished and kinda ghetto.It's a rare two-tone that appeals to me. They almost always look like a vehicle that's sporting one quarter panel and a hood from a different color wrecker, but hey, it was cheap, right? It can really diminish the classic aesthetics of - for instance - a 1911 pattern pistol. The Frankenpistol cobbled-together look comes across as somebody's parts project, not an intentional vision by the designer/maker. Everybody's got their own taste, of course, so not picking on anybody. Um, unless you DO drive that old Caprice with a mismatched quarter panel, obviously.
