Where's a good place to go kayaking in SOMD?

Mallows bay has go to be the coolest place I've seen so far.

Any other kayak people here? Where do you go?

Pax at Drift Inn below Benedict and the DI had great Crabs and Crab Cakes ! Miss them since being here in Jacksonville Fl.

There is a nice kayak ramp at Friendship Landing park.

Mattawonan Creek ain't bad either. A little more boat(bass boat) traffic but most of it has a 6mph speed limit.

Your right......been all the way up to Mason Springs saw a couple of Eagles, and lots of ducks and geese.

Put in at governors bridge road in davidsonville and paddle down to kings landing park. Should take most of the day. Check the tides. You want that with you.

Mallows Bay, Chapel Point, Farmington Landing, or MARSHALL Hall and cross over to Dogue Creek....

You can put in at either the wharf or the winery right near McDonald's in Leonardtown. Those spots put you on opposite ends of Macintosh run. Newtown neck state park has some launches too if you prefer bigger water. That park is the point between Brenton bay and St Clements bay. Its a mile or so to Blackstone/St Clements island out on the Potomac.

I forgot to mention the great mills canoe launch. Put in near the post office and take out about three hours later at St Mary's college

There is also St Marys lake off rt 5. 250 acres of calm water.

I put in on the other side if pax and went up to what i think was kings landing. A place called cocktown creek lol.

Was definatly worth seekng imo
