What ammo does your 1/7 twist 16" barrel AR like the best? I have not shot mine yet, a M4 Carbine length, but I have 500 rounds of 55g PMC X-TAC and 100 rounds of 77g Silver State to start with. Also which of the Mil designated 62g rounds have steel cores?

The 1:7 will eat both the 55g & 77g. To determine it's liking, your gonna have to shoot both. Maybe even try a few more... Although, I am not sure if the 77's will fit your mag. You may have to single load them if they are seated "long".

M855 is the 62gr steel core. 77gr might be a touch long, but you can try to cycle them and see if they feed.

Doing some google fu it looks like the SSA 77g rounds are the equivalent to the mk262 round without the primer and bullet sealant for long term storage. On the M4Carbine.net site the reports indicated the 77g rounds cycled just fine but I guess I will find out soon. What 62g rounds do you like the best? I am thinking I will get the best performance with the 62g an up rounds since its a 1/7 twist barrel.

I've run 40gr to 75gr thru mine, POA/POI shift isn't too bad going thru the different weights. All of them printed nice and consistent.

    The favorite round right now?

My handload. 69gr Nosler Custom Comp. HPBT over 24.1gr's of H335. Tears one ragged hole when I do my part.
